Dr. Robert Alonso ¡Habla Español!
Education:
University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus
Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Alonso was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico and currently lives in Southeast Orlando. Growing up, he was always surrounded and fascinated by animals. He decided to become a veterinarian because he wanted to share the love he felt for animals with more than just his own pets. He wanted to reach and help as many as he could, and becoming a veterinarian has given him a platform to do that and more.
What Dr. Alonso loves the most about being a veterinarian is the interactions he gets to have with both pets and their owners. He enjoys guiding owners with recommendations that help strengthen their relationship and bond. He also enjoys helping owners make better decisions to help their pets live healthier, longer lives.
Coming from a place where stray animals were seen as a normal, everyday thing taught Dr. Alonso the importance of education and prevention. In his experience, people take better care of their pets if you dedicate time to teaching and educating them about prevention - whether it is spaying and neutering to prevent unwanted litters, behavior and medical issues, or having a discussion about what preventatives and diets suit their pet's lifestyle the best.
Some of Dr. Alonso's professional interests include internal medicine, radiology, and dermatology. In his spare time, he enjoys taking his two dogs to the dog park, exploring different cuisines and new restaurants, and visiting theme parks in the area. He also enjoys traveling.

She is happily married to a man who loves animals as much as she does. They share their home with their rescue animals, Oliver (a Pug), Malygos (a bearded dragon), Nori, and Lenny (two cats). She enjoys spending time with loved ones, traveling, checking out new restaurants, and dancing to Latin music in her free time.
